Explore the LGBT Center of Raleigh website (Or download their app from Google Play or the Apple App Store.) This is your one-stop shop for events, programs, information and more for the LGBT+ community in Raleigh. Select the “Program Initiatives” dropdown and be amazed at all the offerings, including programs for teens and 50+. (The Center’s location on W. Hargett street is closed right now due to Covid but much is still happening virtually.)
Choose at least one local activity or group to engage with. Scan the list below or do a search on meetup.com or social media sites to find a group and/or event you’d like to participate in or support. Don’t wait or talk yourself out of it – make the contact ASAP.
Become a regular somewhere in your new neighborhood. Whether it’s a local coffee shop, gym, bookstore, club, restaurant, etc., strive to visit at least once a week. You can choose to talk to someone or not, but you’ll soon begin to feel a little more comfortable in the community.
